Long ago, the evolution of televisions was slow. The only concern you encounter when you shop for your television is to determine the size of the screen you desire and if you prefer a floor model or a portable model. Then suddenly, high-definition televisions surfaced in three forms all at once นาฬิกาข้อมือถูกและดี. These new models came together with a diversity of new trends and peripherals which one could make use of in his home. This being the fact, your traditional concern became more complicated. Will I buy a 720p or a 1080p? Is projection better than flat-screen or the other way around? In what television will my favorite News Show look good? So many questions that requires immediate answers.
A lot of people have chosen to purchase either a plasma or LCD TV, and if the latter, probably a cheap LCD TV. This occurred after they were able to take a good look on the screen quality plus the room space over which the television set is intended to be placed. However, another concern arose as the difference between the two contending televisions cannot easily be depicted because of both benefiting from technology advancements. Hence, the most appropriate question to ask is which among the two will you choose.
Durability, Functionality, and Inexpensiveness of LCD TVs
There are a lot of small flat-screen sets or those less than 40 inches that are available in the market and if you take a good look, you will notice that most of them are LCD TVs. Long before, LCD Technology have already been in existence. In fact, this technology was earlier used for a diversity of flat electronic displays such as wristwatches. Just recently, however, LCDs size and price declined making it more affordable to consumers. Necessarily, LCD technology became a practical choice in favor of large scale home applications. They were first used for computer monitors, and thereafter, they were used for television sets just like Samsung, Panasonic and Sharp LCD TVs.
LCD TVs have very thin screens, its depth being 2 inches in majority of all cases, plus it can easily be mounted on the wall. Originally, LCD TVs have limited sizes, but now, there is already one which insanely measures about 108 inches. This may not however set the maximum limit yet. With this, such form of technology caused the emerging of rivalry between plasmas and LCD TVs as they are already equally competitive even in the high-end, big-screen market. LCD TVs resolutions being akin to resolutions of plasmas, both TVs are just comparable.
LCD TVs have advantages but they also have downsides. Included in the latter are not-quite-black blacks, "dead pixel" issues, and burn-in problems. Burn-in is not a usual problem in LCD TVs and majority of those which were newly manufactured are not greatly susceptible to the same. However, it can't be helped that if a single image is left on for a quite extensive period, a light ghosting might appear and may become permanent. "Dead pixel," referring to a spot whereby a pixel no longer responds, is another downside of LCD TVs. This is usually caused by pressure or damage to a certain part of the screen. Finally, the gravest problem of all is the black issue. Black can never be entirely black in LCD TVs as these TVs uses backlit. This may however by taken cared of if you maintain the TV dim and do the viewing in a dark room.
Plasma Televisions
Plasma TVs and LCD TVs are very much similar televisions. Both are slim flat-screens and hi-def TVs. But they are very much different in as much as the technology they use are totally dissimilar. Plasmas make use of neon plus other inert gases which are squeezed into two glass panes thus resulting to the showing of images on the screen. Another distinction of the two contending televisions is that plasmas provide remarkable dense blacks. The color is extremely black that it almost glows. In fact, even experts asserted that plasmas provide the most realistic pictures among all modern TVs. Nonetheless, plasmas are expensively valued and are usually found in sizes of 40 inches and over. This TV can also be mounted although it is much more delicate as compared to LCD TVs. Actually, if you lay down your plasma TV flat on the floor, most likely, the said TV will be destroyed.
